Opportunities...

What kinds of opportunities?  Opportunities to grow, fellowship, serve, and get involved in many number of ways!

The 30 Hour Famine is World Vision's international youth movement designed to save kids lives.  It "puts hands and feet to teens' desire to live a life of compassion."  The New Song Youth Group participates each year.  For more information check out World Vision's 30 Hour Famine web page.

Becoming a Contagious Christian

Do you want people to see God in you and be attracted to Him through you?

Do you want to flavor the world around you?

Do you want to light up the room when you enter?

Do you want to help those you love find meaning in life and be guarenteed to go to heaven when they die?

God's number ONE priority and our number ONE assignment is to reach out to those who don't know Christ.  Most Christians really, really wnat to do so but don't know how.  It doesn't have to be that way.

Gaining the passion and skills for reaching out in caring ways is what Becoming a Contagious Christian is all about.  You are invited to participate.

Contact the office for more information.

Visit the Church of God - Children of Promise web page for more information.

Children's Classes

We believe children and youth ought to enjoy being in church right from the beginning.  Children's classes are a ministry available to pre-school through high school children.  They communicate God's love, give solid knowledge of the Bible, and make church attendance an enjoyable experience.  The nursery also provides tender loving care by mature adults at all services of our church

Friendship Groups

Sunday mornings are when the entire congregation meets together to worship and learn. But another important time is when people meet in smaller groups to develop meaningful relationships and serve others. Far too many people endure life without good friends to walk with through life’s ups and downs. We at New Song believe that every person can live life to the fullest through being a part of a small group.

In a Friendship Group you can get to know God better, learn how to live more effectively, become all God created you to be, and reach out a helping hand to others all in the environment of family-like relationships

Contact the church office or any lay-pastor for more information.

Light of Life donations

"Light of Life Rescue Mission is a private non-profit Christian agency dedicated to serving homeless and needy people of Southwestern Pennsylvania by providing food, shelter and hope through outreach and residential programs.  This organization will endure as a ministry grounded on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and as a caregiver, advocate and leader on behalf of homeless and needy people."

Light of Life Rescue Mission is not just a soup kitchen. The goal of the Mission is to "invest in programs that restore hope, and help them recognize and share their God-given gifts". The Mission works toward this goal by providing the homeless with food, shelter, medical care, clothing, Bible study, life-skills training, vocational training, tutoring and child care services (while mom is in class).

The Mission is currently serving more homeless people than ever before. Consequently, its need for monetary and material donations has also greatly increased. New Song regularly collects items to be donated to the Mission. Following is a list of their most abundant needs:

SEASONAL - Cold weather clothing (hats, gloves, scarves, coats, shoes, boots, socks) Blankets.

GENERAL - Toiletries, especially travel size (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shaving cream, shampoo, deodorant, brush and comb, underwear, tissues, bandages, disposable razors, women's hygiene products) Umbrellas, Study Bibles (NIV), Pajamas, Daily Devotionals, Twin-size bed sheets.

CHILDREN'S ITEMS - Toys and games (for the child care center), Book bags, School supplies, Pajamas, Infant clothing and shoes, Disposable diapers and diaper wipes, Baby food and formula.

Bring items to be donated to the Mission on Sunday Mornings and place them in the box provided in the back.

If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please see the Light of Life Rescue Mission web site.
